About Our Hermantown Location
Welcome to our Hermantown location—built from the ground up just steps from Sam's Club. It's our second brick-and-mortar, expanding the King of Creams experience with more seating, more kitchen space, and our first drive-thru window for call-ahead and online orders.
Our Story
1 BUILT ON GRIT. FUELED BY FAMILY
Years before Hillside, we toured a nearby space owned by Joe and Stevie of Patriot Properties. It wasn’t the right fit — but they remembered us.
In 2020, we saw them developing a new building near Sam’s Club. We reached out. They visited our Hillside shop, tried the food, and liked what they saw. A few lease talks later, we were on our way to Hermantown.
2A SURPRISE CORNER SPOT
We were originally set to move into Suite 300. But on signing day, Joe offered Suite 400 — a high-visibility corner with a drive-thru. A national chain had backed out. The timing was perfect. We jumped.
3The COVID Curveball
COVID delayed our original 2020 opening — but the Hillside community and our landlords had our back. We opened in June 2020, the moment restrictions lifted.
4FROM CHILDHOOD STREETS TO LOCAL LANDMARK
As a kid I grew up in both Hillside and Hermantown neighborhoods — and now we’ve got shops in both. This location brought us full-circle. It’s proof that hard work, community, and a good burger will always find their way home.
5WHO YOU’LL SEE BEHIND THE COUNTER
Hermantown is managed by our son Carlin, who grew up in the King of Creams food trucks. He learned the business the hard way — on hot days, long nights, and busy summers.
6FAMILY ROOTS. FUTURE FOCUS
This isn’t just a second location — it’s a launchpad. It’s supported by Josh and Kylie, who’ve both played a huge role in our success. Both are planning to step away soon — but whoever steps in next will be expected to live the same family-first values: treat every customer like family, and never send out food that isn’t our best.
Local Favorites
Here's what people can't stop talking about at Hermantown:
Philly Cheesesteak – Thin-sliced ribeye steak, grilled onions and green peppers, melted provolone on a bakery-fresh Amoroso roll.
Hot Honey Chicken Tenders – Hand-breaded, sauced to order, and seriously addictive.
Smashburger – Grass-fed beef, cooked flat-top style with crispy edges and that rich, beefy flavor.
Hand-Spun Malts & Shakes – So thick, your straw gives up.
Hand-Sliced, Hand-Breaded Fried Pickles – A crispy golden sidekick with house-made sauces.
