Claiming the Crown
We weren’t just early — we reintroduced Duluth to the idea of local, mobile food service. In
2008, we hit the streets with the original King of Creams ice cream truck. We weren’t
chasing a trend — we were setting one. We held the first peddler’s permit issued by the City
of Duluth in over 15 years.
Today, Duluth has a thriving food truck scene. But we remember when it was just us. Since
then, we’ve grown from scoops to full-service food — offering grass-fed smash burgers,
hand-breaded chicken tenders, and craveable comfort food before it became the norm.
Others came after. But we were the first truck on the scene — and we’re still raising the bar.

Our season runs May through September, weather permitting. When school’s in session, the ice cream truck rolls out on weekends only. Routes may vary—follow us on Facebook for updates.

And they shouldn’t be. You're hiring a mobile restaurant, complete with a trained team, licensed kitchen, and years of experience.
What most people don’t realize is that for every hour we serve, we spend several hours behind the scenes prepping, loading, cleaning, restocking, and sanitizing. Add fuel, staff wages, permits, and food costs — and it’s easy to see why there's a required minimum.
We use a minimum spend structure based on the season and service type:
